7 Ways to Unrealistically Boost WWE Raw Ratings

Idea No: 3 – NXT Invasion

I’m worried about this idea because this may be a seriously, phenomenal idea and this is a card WWE can only play one time, just like if they ever did turn Cena heel.

The last time we saw young guns take out the establishment it was the Nexus in 2010. The setup was there were eight ‘NXT’ rookies unleashed to destroy John Cena, the ring, and Justin Robert’s neck.

That NXT was based on illegitimate reality competitions. The current NXT is built as an alternative brand to WWE, but there is a light, cordial crossover. Each brand exists in its own universe. However, as hot as NXT is on its own, what if it was exposed to the Monday night audience?

Fantasy booking idea: Instead of a Nexus-like reveal, I would plan on an 8-10 man tag match as the main event. Eventually pandemonium would break out with pairs of wrestlers either going to the outside or hitting finishers on one another. However, once carnage was left in the ring, the NXT theme would hit upon which Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, Samoa Joe, Baron Corbin, etc would emerge and lay further waste to the WWE roster. Even women such as Nia Jax and Asuka could lay the smack down on their ‘Revolution’ counterparts.

Where the departure in the storytelling would occur would be where if it was Team WWE vs. Team NXT at a Survivor Series and Team NXT won. Perhaps the next few weeks of Raws could just be NXT matches, but then fans would realize, “Damn, three hours is a long time!”

WWE would gain sympathy from its fan base, the appreciation level of the Raw product would rise as NXT would give the keys to Monday night back to the main roster. Dare to dream.
