1. Roman Reigns

Last Rank: 2

Week Highlights: Tater tots.

It’s a painful truth that Roman Reigns is the number one commodity in the WWE right now. Not nearly as painful as that last segment on Raw; however, it’s getting worse.

At this point Roman Reigns is only the man because we’re being told he is the man. Look at all the skill categories, and Reigns isn’t the top Superstar in any of them. He’s not the best on the mic; he’s not the best in the ring, and he’s not the best-looking man (talk to Tyler Breeze about that). He’s not even the best at spearing people now that Rhyno is back on the roster.

So why? What is the justification for Roman Reigns to lord over the WWE as “the man?” He’s popular, yes, but so are many other Superstars. That’s not to say that they’d be any better at putting butts in seats than Roman Reigns, but it’s unlikely that wrestlers the likes of Ambrose or Ziggler would be that much worse.

Any rational argument is irrelevant at this point. Roman Reigns is the top guy because that’s just the way it is. And this week’s WWE Power Rankings are taking a page out of the actual WWE’s book and placing him atop the list for no good reason whatsoever.
