Asuka vs. Carmella

This was never going to be anything other than a squash match but both women put in a performance here. Carmella is improving every time you see her in the ring and Asuka is just a fantastic wrestler.

It was good to see the respect between the two women before and after the match, there’s a lot of camaraderie between this NXT roster and it’s great to see that they are all working together to produce the best product they can.

Asuka is phenomenal in the ring. Her tough looking kicks and punches set her apart from the other women around her, there’s a reason she was a massive star in her native Japan and that was evident here. From her ring entrance, o her in ring work to the whole aura around her this was the performance of a superstar who can go as far as she wants to in this business. Don’t let the tough persona fool you though, Asuka can also throw a touch of comedy into her matches as she mocked the movements of Carmella as she laid on the mat after a beating.

Carmella got a small amount of offence in and made a good showing but this was all about Asuka. Turning a simple move into a reversal becoming the Cross Face Chicken Wing submission known as the Asuka Lock. You can’t help but be impressed with her and she will hold the NXT Women’s title in the next 12 months without a doubt. Can you imagine Bayley vs Asuka for the belt on WrestleMania weekend?

You have to see Asuka to believe the hype, i can tell you the hype is real.
