WWE TLC 2015: Live Reaction and Review (Video)
By DJ Smith
Check out an in-person review of last night’s WWE TLC pay-per-view.
Last night I was at the TD Garden for WWE TLC and I’ll have to admit, the buildup had been lackluster so I had little to no expectations going in but walking out of the arena last night I was blown away by the matches and performance by all.
Before I talk about last night’s show, I would be remised if I didn’t thank some of the guys over at 98.5 The Sports Hub for meeting up with a few of the wrestlers at Kowloons for Dolph Ziggler’s comedy show.

So last night was a fun, in more ways than one. Our original seats were located in the 300s which weren’t bad because there isn’t a bad seat at the TD Garden. But we had some people hook us up with a few better seats. From these:
To this:
Getting into the actual show, Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch was the pre-show match that was alright nothing to write home about in my opinion. Sasha did get a great pop during her entrance and there were chants for her even after the match ended and the pay-per-view was about to begin.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the New Day are the most entertaining group to watch since Edge and Christian in the late 1990s. They are having so much fun out there with their promos and the trio legitimately are buying into their characters and group, which is something you don’t see with every guy on the roster. As far as the Triple Threat Ladder match, I was in the process of moving seats so I missed the majority of the match, but I was able to catch the tail end of the match. Glad New Day retained until a team steps up or a new group emerges (Looking right at you two, Enzo and Cass) there is no reason to take the titles off them.
Ryback vs. Rusev was okay, again not a lot of heat going into this one thus I didn’t really care what happened. Jack Swagger vs. Alberto Del Rio was another match that I was lukewarm on, I feel like since Del Rio came back his character has changed way to much. First he debuted with Zeb Colter and started the Mex-America angle, and that got dropped fairly quickly. Now he dumped Colter, as well as the Mex-America and now, is aligned with the League of Nations. Just too much going on with him, hopefully, this League of Nations stable lasts long and Del Rio can get some heat moving forward.
Dudley Boyz vs. Wyatts was fun to watch because it was the spot fest that everyone had expected this to be.
Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens delivered in a solid match, interesting that Ambrose picked up the title here but that should lead us to another match at Royal Rumble. One thing to question is whether the WWE would have Ambrose as the Intercontinental Champion and win the actual Royal Rumble match. His name has been tossed around as possible winners so would WWE make that move? I doubt it.

Charlotte vs. Paige was a match that surprised me, I enjoyed watching Charlotte emerge as this new heel similar her Dad, Ric Flair. As expected, Charlotte won thanks to some dirty tricks that Ric and Charlotte did, an exposed turnbuckle was used and ended up being the deciding factor in this match.
Finally the main event for the WWE Championship, Roman Reigns challenged Sheamus and right from the start the entire crowd was chanting “We want Cena”. Bizarre stuff, even I got swept up in the chants. Overall this was a solid match, Sheamus and Reigns both had opportunities to pull down the championship and the crowd was all over both guys as they got closer and closer. Obviously, people were upset at the dusty finish, with the League of Nations interfering and helping Sheamus retain.
After the match is where things got interesting, all day I had thought that Triple H was over in London with the NXT crew but turns out he was in Boston and came out to check on Sheamus. A few moments later he was getting repeated chair shots from Reigns. Things move to the outside and after a power bomb onto the Spanish announce table Reigns hopped on the other announce table and dropped the elbow on Hunter.
Seeing Roman spear Hunter afterwards was pretty cool from my view too:
Overall a great weekend, and a solid way to close out 2015. With a bunch of guys out because of injury or vacation I thought the wrestlers stepped up for the most part and put on a solid show. We are officially on the Road to Wrestlemania, ladies and gentlemen. Let the Royal Rumble speculation begin.
