5 Reasons Putting the WWE Championship on Roman Reigns Now was Good Idea

4) Sheamus was a Weak Champion
Before Sheamus cashed in Money in the Bank at WWE Survivor Series and won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, he was booked like a low-card talent. He had no major feud except for one with Randy Orton that may go down as one of the worst of 2015. It didn’t help that he jobbed out to mid-card Superstars about an hour before in the 5 vs. 5 elimination match. He looked like a fool losing to so many people.
Much of this is why people groaned when Sheamus won the title later that night. Someone who was booked as weak as he had been just defeated a guy who won the tournament to determine a new champion.
Through the three weeks he was champion before WWE TLC, the writing team did him no favors. He took a pin from Reigns and was dominated by him in other physical segments. His League of Nations teammates also did not look strong, as Reigns defeated them countless times and made them look irrelevant.
If WWE had no plans on making Sheamus and his stable a force, then there was no reason to keep the title on him. Finishing a feud with Reigns and going onto do other programs is best for the Celtic Warrior is best for him going forward.
