Bayley (c) vs. Nia Jax

Result: Bayley defeats Nia Jax via submission to retain the NXT Women’s Championship.

Nia would go for an attack, but Bayley started moving out of the way. She tried doing a sunset flip but couldn’t move her. Bayley started hitting kicks and elbows but got caught and tossed. Nia headbutted and kicked Bayley.

Nia would put her knee into Bayley and move her around like a rag doll. She continued to physically impose her will on Bayley. The Huggable One would hop onto Nia’s back and try a move but got shoved into the turnbuckle. However, Bayley began working elbows and went to the top rope. Nia pulled her down and went for the Samoan Drop. Bayley responded with a dropkick to the knees and one to the face.

Bayley climbed to the second rope and hit an elbow, but it didn’t do much damage. She tried another one and it didn’t do much. Bayley went to the top rope and tried a move but Nia pushed her down.

As Nia went for a powerbomb, Bayley locked in her. However, Nia picked Bayley up and brought her to the top rope. They started trading right hands until Nia fell off. Bayley hit a senton for a near-fall that sent her out of the ring.

In the ring, Nia hit a Samoan Drop for a near-fall. She hit two more Samoan Drops and a leg drop, but Bayley kicked out of a pinfall.

Nia shoved Bayley into the corner and smashed into her three times. She then threw Bayley across the ring. A leg drop onto her elbow and two leg drops onto Bayley would follow. She hit another leg drop but Bayley kicked out of a pin again.

On the top rope, they both went up. Nia picked her up but Bayley put a guillotine choke hold on. However, Nia slammed her down. Bayley then went for another guillotine hold but got slammed down. She went for the choke hold a third time and brought Nia down. After a long hold, Nia tapped out.

Rob’s Note: This was a lot of fun to watch. Bayley and Nia told a great story here and had the crowd sucked in the whole time. Bayley retaining is a good call, as Nia is not ready for a title run. Keep the belt on Bayley and let her roll with it.
