Dean Ambrose is next on the list for who could take the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Roman Reigns.

Ambrose is only days into his reign as WWE Intercontinental Champion and has been aligned with Reigns since The Shield broke up in Jun. 2014. However, they are bound to feud at some point.

    • The Ambrose-Reigns friendship has somewhat run its course. They have battled together a few dozen times over the years and have been buddy-buddy with no signs of tension. It seems strange since all WWE pairings usually end.

    While Ambrose and Reigns are likely to fall victim to that formula, it may be for the better. If it is while the latter is holding the top title, could the Lunatic Fringe defeat his friend in a match for the belt?

    It wouldn’t be crazy to think that this could happen. Unfortunately, WWE just gave away the first Ambrose vs. Reigns match at WWE Survivor Series last month in a nine-minute bout. It was a rushed match that had no flow and ended way too quickly. This means for fans to be anticipating a rematch, these two would have to wait a long time before facing off. Ambrose taking the title off Reigns would seemingly be unlikely then.
