2) Daniel Bryan

Transitioning from the most obvious to the most hopeful possibilities on the list, we have Daniel Bryan. The last time I wrote about Bryan, I included him in a list of people who should challenge John Cena in his U.S. Open challenge. Since that time, there have been basically no new developments regarding Bryan or his health, which is pretty ridiculous.

Bryan has said many times that his doctors have told him he’s fine, but it’s WWE’s doctors that are afraid to clear him. They’re right to be careful with a guy who has had so many head injuries, but honestly, they need to get over it and clear him already. Bryan has said that if his career is actually over in WWE, then he’s just gonna go somewhere else. Is it really smart to let the most over superstar in the company walk? Short answer: no.

The good news about Bryan is that since his health is apparently no longer an issue beyond the doctors being afraid to clear him, he could technically be cleared at any point. So that leaves the door ever-so-slightly open for a Daniel Bryan return in the Royal Rumble.

The only problem with this would be the chance that the winner of the Rumble gets booed out of the arena for being, well, not Daniel Bryan. If Bryan isn’t in the picture then it doesn’t matter, but if he does enter, I don’t think fans could handle him losing again. Despite that, man, what a moment it would be for the most popular guy in the company to make a surprise entry into the Rumble. And imagine if he won? We’re talking a potential all-time great WWE moment right there.
