3 WWE Superstars in Need of a Push in 2016
By Todd Boyer
As 2015 comes to a close, we look at the Superstars that are most in need of a push going into 2016.
In 2015, in the WWE, you could clearly tell which WWE Superstars were the main event level superstars, but you could also tell which superstars were in desperate need of a push.
Unfortunately with injuries that have taken place in late 2015, the current mid card talent will have to step up their game heading into 2016. Three superstars come to mind when thinking of mid-card talent that can boost the main event, but are also in a desperate need of push individually.

1. King Barrett
King Barrett started 2015 off winning the Intercontinental Championship from Dolph Ziggler in early January. After winning the Intercontinental Championship, Barrett successfully defended the title against Dean Ambrose at FastLane. But heading into WrestleMania 31, the odds were stacked against Barrett, as he defended the title in a ladder match, in which he lost the Intercontinental Championship to Daniel Bryan.

Unfortunately for Barrett, Bryan was scratched from the Extreme Rules card, and Barrett never received his one-on-one rematch, as he was relegated to a pre-show match against Neville.
In 2015, though, Barrett did win the King of the Ring tournament and had an opportunity to win the then-vacant Intercontinental Championship in an Elimination Chamber match in late May. But since, Barrett has played second fiddle in most of his tag team feuds, whether it be his match with Stardust against Neville and Stephen Amell at SummerSlam or currently in the League of Nations with Sheamus, Rusev, and Alberto Del Rio.
Currently, as I stated above, the League of Nations is currently feuding with Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and the Usos, and with Ambrose as the current Intercontinental Champion, Barrett would have the perfect opportunity to finally regain the title he never lost in a one-on-one match up.
2. Rusev
Rusev entered 2015 with the United States Championship and never being pinned in his WWE career. That all came to a halting stop Rusev started to feud with John Cena.
Heading into WrestleMania, Rusev had already had a win over Cena under his belt, Rusev not only lost the United Championship at WrestleMania but proceeded to lose his next two matches against Cena.
Following losing his feud to Cena, Rusev into entered into a feud with Dolph Ziggler, which was a disaster of a mess for anyone involved.
Fortunately, though, for Rusev, since joining the League of Nations, the WWE has started to reboot Rusev as the overpowering Bulgarian Brute that he was when he originally joined the main roster.
3. Dolph Ziggler
Heading into 2015, the future looked bright for Dolph Ziggler, with his impressive performance in the main event of Survivor Series, and winning the Intercontinental Championship at TLC to finish off the year.
2015 could not have started off in the worst way for Ziggler, as he would lose, not only the Intercontinental Championship but his job, as the Authority fired every member of Team Cena from Survivor Series.
Despite being in an Intercontinental Championship ladder match at WrestleMania, Ziggler finished off 2015 with seemingly meaningless feuds against Sheamus, Rusev, and Tyler Breeze.

If as of late is any indication of what 2016 has in store for Ziggler, still in the Intercontinental Championship hunt, then the future looks bright for Ziggler.
