Triple H vs. The Rock
If The Rock ends up competing at WrestleMania 32, Triple H would be the ideal option for an opponent.
The build for a Rock vs. HHH match technically began in 2014 when these two had a backstage segment at the 15th-anniversary edition of SmackDown. It was mentioned that if they did wrestle, it would come in front of 100,000 people, which AT&T Stadium holds. The match is there for this, right?
Then these two shared an in-ring segment at WrestleMania 31 with Stephanie McMahon and UFC star Ronda Rousey also there. It ended with Rousey and Rock cleaning house of the heels to stand tall.
The next step would seemingly be a match to reignite this feud that has technically been going on since the late 1990’s. Rock and Triple H battled multiple times over the years, most notably on the first episode of SmackDown and in a fatal 4-way elimination match for the WWF Championship at WrestleMania 2000. They have never faced off one on one on the grandest stage, though.
Triple H is currently involved with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns. It would seem that a match is likely between the two based on what has happened. However, WWE has used the ties that Reigns and The Rock have together on TV, most recently at the 2015 Royal Rumble match.
When this feud progresses, Reigns could bring in Rock to fight Triple H. This would make sense since putting the WWE COO in a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania 32 isn’t the best idea. It simply wouldn’t be believable for the 46-year-old to go for the top title.
