  • Despite the fact he is a massively polarising figure, he has held more WWE Heavyweight titles than anyone else, and one day will overtake Ric Flair as the man with the most Heavyweight title wins in wrestling history. Cena is the Hulk Hogan of his generation, and like the Hulkster he has carried the company on his back through good times and bad. In recent years, he’s shown a willingness to build the stars of the future with the United States Championship Open Challenge giving many new stars the chance to wrestle for the gold. Men like Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens and Neville had big matches with Cena over that belt and have made big strides since then.

When all is said and done, whether you like him or not, John Cena is has been the most important man in the WWE for at least the last decade. His appearances at WrestleMania, his title wins, his matches, his reliability and his willingness to do what is best for business sets him apart from many of his peers. One day John Cena will enter the WWE Hall of Fame and everyone will stand up and applaud him like a legend deserves.
