John Cena Should Win the WWE Intercontinental Title on Raw Return
By Jay Sichler
With John Cena set to make his epic return to Raw on Memorial Day, WWE should do something unpredictable and creative to mark this huge return.
This Memorial Day will see John Cena finally returning to WWE on a full-time basis. With the exception of two one-off appearances on an episode of Raw and during WrestleMania, Cena has been virtually gone from WWE TV since October. With his return to Raw set for Memorial Day, WWE should make his return monumental.
Rusev is scheduled to face Kalisto at Extreme Rules for the WWE United States Championship. The smart money has the Bulgarian Brute winning the title. Could Cena then return to challenge for the belt he owned in 2015?

However, this seems a bit lackluster as Cena was just feuding with Rusev last year and a return to a feud not so long ago seems like a bit of a waste for Mr. HLR’s return. With Cena already having multiple runs as United States Champion, and with Rusev about to begin another run as the title holder, it seems like a waste for both of them.

There is another championship that Cena should challenge for, though, which is the Intercontinental Championship.
Throughout his illustrious career, John Cena has accomplished every championship and achievement possibly imaginable, with the exception of winning the Intercontinental Championship.
The IC title has been in a bit of funk for the last few years. Cena did a great job with the United States Championship last year, so he could easily do the same with the Intercontinental Championship. Cena could start doing Intercontinental Open Challenges, which would let him be able to work and develop some of the newer stars and the mid-card talents.
Cena entering a feud with The Miz would also be a great idea. The two have not really interacted with one another since 2011, when they were feuding for the WWE Championship. Cena could begin cutting a promo on Raw, and then Miz could come out claiming that the 15-time World Champion is old news and how the A-lister heels he is a must-see WWE superstar. This could set up a match between the two, which would see Cena could win the Intercontinental Championship.
