Breaking down the best Money In The Bank pay-per-view matches that didn’t involve that all-important briefcase.

The title sounds kind of funny, right?  Each year the WWE’s Money In The Bank pay-per-view is must see television and also one of the most important shows of the year.  Winning the briefcase containing a WWE world title shot at any time of the victor’s choosing is not only a fun concept but it also sets numerous story lines for the upcoming months.  With the stakes so high, these ladder matches are almost always instant classics.  How couldn’t they be? You take up to 7 participants, throw them in the ring with a litany of tables and ladders, and tell them that the winner gets a golden ticket to stardom.  Yeah, things are going to get crazy.

However, the MITB matches only take up 2 spots on the show.  What about the other matches at this annual event that can match up with the briefcase battles?  Being that Money In The Bank is one of the more popular shows each year, it gives the superstars involved an extra reason to try and stand out.  Ahead we take a look at five of the best matches that did not involve the pay-per-view’s namesake.
