WWE Cruiserweight Classic 2016 Review: Results, Analysis and Grades for August 3; Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa
By Tim Sherry
Noam Dar vs Gurv Sihra
Result: Noam Dar wins via submission.
Rating: 1.5 out of 5 stars
Bryan and Ranallo immediately talked up the fact that Gurv’s brother, Harv, already lost and The Bollywood brothers would face extinction from this tournament with a loss. The bout started very technically as the two went basic move for basic move. Sihra hit a very sloppy side slam where both men looked confused. Dar fought back with a couple variations of kicks before a sharp-shooter was fought off by Sihra.
Sihra had a couple minutes of hope with some nice pinning combinations but Dar was too much, hitting a fisherman buster and a quick transition into a knee bar for the tap out.
Tim’s Note: This match just really never got going. There was an early botch and a bunch of moves that frankly have already been done in this tournament so far. There was just nothing new here which is a shame because the 23-year-old Dar is a special talent. Good thing he’ll have at least one more chance to shine.
