5. The Main Events Will Be Worthy of an Event This Big

One of the biggest downfalls of WrestleMania 32 was the main event. Although the Roman Reigns vs Triple H WWE Championship match was months in the making and had tons of star power, the incessant Reigns push took a lot of steam out of what was an otherwise pretty good match. Everybody knew what the buildup to the match was leading to. Reigns would have his big moment to close out WrestleMania, cementing him as the next top star and officially kicking off his first meaningful championship reign.

But the predictability along with the fans’ refusal to buy into Reigns as the next big thing made it one of the biggest duds in Mania history. The boos were drowned out only by the sound of the fireworks that went off to close the show.

But SummerSlam is a different story. Although the official main event, i.e. the last match of the night, is yet to be determined, the matches that figure to serve as co-main events in terms of importance will bring a lot more mystique and intrigue than the Reigns and Triple H bout.

First, we have Seth Rollins vs Finn Balor for the WWE Universal Championship. This match will feature Rollins trying to re-assume his position as “The Man”, while Balor tries to continue his meteoric rise to stardom and become a top champion in just his first month on the main roster. As if that story along with the in-ring abilities of the two men aren’t enough, we’ll also see Balor’s first appearance as “The Demon” on the main roster, and potentially the unveiling of the Universal Championship if it doesn’t happen before then. Oh, and the best part about this match? The unpredictability. It’s extremely difficult to pick the winner given Rollins’ main-event pedigree and Balor’s huge push.

Then there’s Dean Ambrose vs Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler pulled of a huge upset defeating AJ Styles and John Cena among others in a match to become number one contender, and since then he’s proven he should’ve been in the main-event picture for his entire career. His promos back and forth with Ambrose have been gold and we already know Ziggler can go in the ring. This should be a great match centered around Ambrose’s desire to stay on top and Ziggler’s quest to regain the glory he had during his brief run as World Heavyweight Champion a few years ago.
