Shawn Michaels is Perfect Fit for the WWE Performance Center

Shawn Michaels is rumored to be a new coach at the WWE Performance Center. While not 100 percent set in stone, it would be a great opportunity for current and future students.

For more than 30 years, Shawn Michaels has accumulated a number of titles. In addition to holding several different singles and tag team championships for multiple promotions – most notably WWE – he has been called “Mr. WrestleMania,” “the Showstopper,” “the Headliner,” “the Main Event” and “the Best of the Best.”

Now you can add another title to his overall professional wrestling resume – coach.

According to PWInsider.com, Michaels is considering the opportunity taking over a “finishing class” at the WWE Performance Center. This is a full-time job that was held by Terry Taylor, who had to undergo neck surgery. It’s just one of the big changes with other coaches are moving into producer roles on the main roster.

While it’s a shame that Taylor wasn’t able to continue the class, the students currently enrolled in the WWE Performance Center can be considered the luckiest group of students in America. First of all, who wouldn’t want to have someone with the demeanor of Michaels teaching their class? While he expects work to be done, he likely is the type of instructor who can ease tensions for new students and help them comfortably learn.

Granted, an updated news story is that Michaels’ moving to Florida is not 100 percent confirmed. Obviously, retirement from in-ring competition has given him a chance to enjoy time with his family back in San Antonio, Texas. Making the family move from Texas to Florida is a big decision that he is likely going to take some time on.

But for the sake of the students WWE has and will admit in the near future, this is a great fit for Michaels in a number of ways. For one, it keeps him busy. He has said that while he’s enjoyed retirement, it’s nice to do something active. This would provide him the chance to teach the future generations of wrestlers without having to be put on a long touring schedule.

Many wrestling fans might also consider Michaels to be a bit of an expert in performing in the ring and the finishing move is one of the big moments in a match that requires a special craft. Michaels is the perfect option to help younger talents develop their abilities in creating a signature climax for their future matches in NXT and the WWE.

Now if Michaels doesn’t accept a full-time offer, many would hope that he would consider coming in on a temporary basis to teach similar classes. Maybe doing a few weeks at a time or maybe a couple of month-long seminars that focus on not only finishing moves, but also the different parts of developing ring psychology.

With the type of career that Michaels has had over the years, he’s definitely a great candidate to teach not only singles wrestling, but tag team wrestling as well. He would even be a great mentor for the next generation of talent based on the trials he went through before coming back and completing one of the most impressive legacies in wrestling history.
