World Championship Press Conference
This match is promoted as a main event that will be looked back on for years to come. EC3 talks down on Lashley about how he has tarnished divisions. They both thrown in jabs at each other making this somewhat comical at times.
Lashley mentions that other sports and wrestling promotions have been coming after TNA. He claims to be the man that can take on all of those organizations by representing this company. EC3 proclaims that he isn’t like the men that Lashley has faced in the past. The World Champion talks of being better than he ever has been at Bound for Glory.
The press conference ends in a melee after EC3 disrespected Lashley. Both men continue to brawl throughout the break and Lashley once again comes out as dominant. He continues to talk junk to EC3 and throws him out of the building. Lashley leaves Carter laying with ambulance doors open.
Jesse Godderz vs Eli Drake
Result: Drake wins via pinfall
This was another first round match of the Impact Grand Championship Tournament. This was based less on strikes and more on grounding your opponent. Both Godderz and Drake looked to keep their opponent down for quick pins. As Jessie is in control, the round ends and he wins the first round by split decision.
The match continues its technical fashion but Drake sensing that he is in trouble starts to incorporate strikes. Drake remains in control but the showmanship of Drake allowed Godderz to fight back into the match. He ends the round with the Adonis crab for the last 10 seconds of the second round. Godderz wins the second round again by split decision.
Godderz continues his control with power and another Adonis crab attempt that almost ended it. The aggressiveness of Drake got the best of him as Drake uses the ropes to his advantage. Drake barely wins the match with Blood Forced Trauma and moves to the next round by pinfall.
