Why Karl Anderson is WWE Raw’s Best Kept Secret
By Jay Sichler
With his past run and success in NJPW as a singles star, Karl Anderson is truly Monday Night RAW’s best kept secret on their roster.
During the WWE Draft, many teams and stables were split up during the event. One major faction that got affected by this was The Club. This group featured AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows were broken up shortly after coming together.
Styles got taken fourth overall to Smackdown Live, while his partners Gallows and Anderson were drafted to RAW later on that night. While The Phenomenal One has flourished on his own, winning the WWE Championship from Dean Ambrose at Backlash, the same can’t be said about Anderson and Gallows.
Gallows and Anderson have been feuding with The New Day since being on RAW, but their heelish comedic act has not been going over. The duo have performed as doctors and as retirement home owners, claiming they are going to “retire” The New Day’s Tag Team Championship run.
While Anderson and Gallows are the smart money pick to win the tag gold at Clash of Champions, they may not have a lot to work with in the division afterward. Besides The New Day, the only other popular Tag Team on RAW is Enzo and Big Cass.
RAW has the weaker tag division over the two brands, and it will show quickly when Anderson and Gallows have no one to work with. It will be a waste for the talents of Gallows, but especially for Anderson.

Unfortunately, many fans don’t know of Andrson’s fantastic run in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Since he came in as a tag team with Gallows, many assumed that he is only a tag team wrestler. However, this not the case as Anderson had a great run during his time in NJPW.

Anderson had one of the most impressive runs in NJPW. He’s one of only a handful of North Americans to not only compete in the G1 Climax Tournament, but to make it to the prestigious final. The former IWGP Tag Team Champion also put on some classic singles matches in NJPW, and gained some impressive victories over stars like Shinsuke Nakamura, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Tetsuya Naito and Kazuchika Okada.
Anderson along with Finn Balor, formed the super stable The Bullet Club. The faction is not only a popular group in NJPW, but all over the world, and are even still together with Kenny Omega now leading the crew.
With his success over in NJPW, Anderson could also be an addition to the singles division on RAW. He is good on the microphone and solid in the ring and could really be a great heel to work with. Anderson could easily work in the mid card picture with the likes of Sami Zayn, Neville, Cesaro and others. The main event talent can be included too, with the likes of Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.
The Machine Gun’s talent supersedes his spot right now in the tag division. From what he showed during his time in NJPW he can easily be a great addition to the singles competition on Monday Night RAW.
With the tag division being mediocre WWE, should take advantage of Anderson’s talents and make him a singles star. While the move might hurt his partner Luke Gallows, as he might have nothing for him on RAW, Anderson’s talents are too goo to waste.
