Big Show Comments on Potential Retirement, Roman Reigns

Big Show recently commented on his retirement as well as Roman Reigns.

Big Show has been in the WWE for a very long time. Though fans often make fun of the uncountable number of times The World’s Largest Athlete made a turn, the WWE Universe adores him. He has been selflessly putting talent over in the last few years of his career. The resident giant of the WWE has always done whatever it is that was asked of him by creative and Vince McMahon.

Since Wrestlemania 32, WWE has been moving pieces for a possible showdown between Show and Shaquille O’Neal. WWE’s plan is to have these giants collide at Wrestlemania 33. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.

Recently, Show sat down with Digitalspy.com for an interview and discussed multiple topics. This included potential retirement plans and whether this would be his last Wrestlemania as an active competitor.

"“I don’t see anything bigger than that happening for me in this stage of my career. I’m happy for the spotlight that I’m going to share with Shaq at WrestleMania and that’s that. If that’s the last opportunity, thank you very much, it’s been a fantastic time. If Vince comes up with something else, I’ll be there with a smile on my face and make that happen too.”"

More from WWE

Big Show’s passion for the business echoed throughout his answer. Regardless of how many face and heel turns he makes, he is one of WWE’s most passionate and selfless performers. Show always does what has been asked of him. He spoke of the time when he had to put over Roman Reigns during multiple matches. He also mentioned how frustrating he finds it when people boo Reigns for no reason.

"“But let’s give credit where credit’s due. The kid’s a hard-working kid, he’s a hell of an athlete, he’s got a great look and in the ring his timing’s good. That was one of the things that he worked well with me because matches with me are really simple: If you treat me like a giant and you sell, I make your life easy."

Big Show also reminisced about the times he faced the face that runs the place. He said Cena was another great performer who could work magic with him in the ring.

"“Another great one is Cena. Whenever I wrestle Cena, Cena starts off with two or three offensive moves and then I crunch him. But we all know the finish at the end is, you know, Five Knuckle Shuffle and there’s an AA and everybody goes home happy.”"

Big Show makes some pretty valid comments here. A part of the WWE Universe is hellbent on booing Roman Reigns no matter what he does. The former WCW star is not the first WWE superstar to come out supporting Reigns either, however, as he continues to be booked as a top star.
