3. Surprising Twist to a Lackluster Feud

Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt have feuded for about two months, had a match postponed, and wrestled one month later. They surprisingly received the main event of No Mercy after the WWE World Championship match opened the show, but put on a dud. It featured a slow and sluggish pace, which left the event on a low note.

Since then, we have seen Kane join the mix to help Orton, but that hasn’t gone anywhere either besides a casket appearing. It has been uninspiring programming on a show that has been known for better so far. To keep that momentum up, ending Orton vs. Wyatt and sending it another direction makes plenty of sense.

If we had one more match between these two, it could have headlined an episode of SmackDown or been pushed to Survivor Series. While we could always see the latter happen if Orton is playing
“mind games”, seeing them actually align would be more intriguing. Having The New Face of Fear and former World Heavyweight Champion battle one more time on PPV wouldn’t draw as much interest based on their first encounter as well. If anything, they should be in the same stable for a few months before trying for another match. There’s little momentum there now, but it could be restored at a future date.
