2. Win Would Help Set Up Rumored Undertaker Feud
We recently noted a rumor from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there’s a chance Goldberg isn’t going to be done with the WWE after his match at Survivor Series. There could be another match down the line with Lesnar, but the WON reports there is a chance that the WWE is looking at booking Goldberg to face Undertaker at Aprils’ WrestleMania 33. This would all be dependent on whether the Undertaker’s health and physical condition are going to allow him to compete again.
While there might not be a lot of fans excited about a match between the two, the WWE would have to allow Goldberg to go on a dominant run to set up the bout. One cannot simply face Undertaker after having suffered a loss. While the Phenom is not at the peak of his long WWE career, it’s still the kind of match that has to go to someone who is viewed as worthy by the WWE Universe.
A loss to Lesnar would quickly kill momentum for that type of match. Goldberg would be more likely to be considered qualified for a feud with the Deadman after defeating the Conqueror. It all comes down to what happens at Survivor Series as the WWE does want to see what Goldberg can do after his first WWE match in 12 years.
