5. Swerves Create Interest
WWE pay-per-views have somewhat avoided the swerve finish throughout 2016. While Money in the Bank and arguably Survivor Series fit the bill, most of the other shows did not. Having unexpected finishes creates interest and a desire to want to see what’s next. It’s something that has especially been missing from Raw during the brand split.

Well, SmackDown pulled off the swerve at TLC when James Ellsworth cost Dean Ambrose the WWE World Championship. This incident and the Talking Smack promo didn’t indicate that Ellsworth wanted to team with AJ Styles, and instead got his title match set for SmackDown, December 6. However, that finish could always end up going sideways with the bout not even happening or an agreement between Ellsworth and Styles to let the latter get the easy pinfall win. This would then create an alliance, one that didn’t seem possible at first.
Now, fans can tune in on Tuesday, with interest, to see what happens with the fallout. Will Styles and Ellsworth align? Is Ambrose going to seek out the Chinless Wonder for vicious revenge?
