Highlights of the Chris Jericho vs. Seth Rollins match at WWE Roadblock.

As Chris Jericho and Seth Rollins step into the ring with each other at WWE Roadblock, both of their futures are holding in the balance.  Rollins has spent the last few weeks calling out his former mentor turned rival, Triple H, and the two seemed destined for a clash at Wrestlemania 33.

Jericho on the other hand, at 46 years-old his career clock is clearly ticking down but you wouldn’t notice that if you watch him.  He seems re-energized and his fading friendship with Kevin Owens is must-see television every Monday night.  A win over Rollins would set him up for a run towards what will be most likely one of his last Wrestlemania’s.

So how would their Roadblock bout go down?  Read ahead.

The first couple minutes of the match were pretty standard, armbars, arms drags, kicks, punches, chops.  What started as a pure wrestling match quickly turned into a slugfest which forced Y2J to take a break outside.  Rollins followed his foe and delivered a flying knee.  Back inside the ring, it was a lot of the same back and forth, neither man getting the advantage until Jericho nailed a beautiful dropkick on a slingshotting Rollins.

Jericho then grounded The Architect, wearing down Seth with various heel tactics.  The crowd seemed really luke warm even after a beautiful Rollins enzugiri.  Then it was Rollins with a sling blade, 2 running elbows and a gorgeous blockbuster for a two count.

Rollins then looked to finish with The Pedigree only to be countered with an unsuccessful Walls.  Jericho then attempted the Lionsault but Rollins was too quick.

Rollins followed Y2J to the outside with a running dive and attempted to fly at Jericho back inside but Chris countered and this time was successful in applying the Walls.  After Rollins escaped he battled back only to miss a frog splash and get nailed with the Lionsault for a close two for Chris.

The back and forth theme continued with Seth nailing a falcon arrow as the crowd chanted “stupid idiot”.  After another Pedigree attempt was thwarted Rollins ended up back in the Walls but got out again.  After landing a side kick to Jericho’s midsection, Rollins then landed his frog splash for a two count.  This brought Universal Champ Kevin Owens to ringside.

The interference inadvertently cost Jericho as he had Rollins rolled up but the ref was preoccupied with Owens which enraged Y2J.

Rollins used the KO distraction to land the Pedigree and get the 1-2-3. What did you think of this match?
