3. It Could Be Used to Start New Feuds

In Rumbles past, an entire rivalry could start over this wrestler eliminating that wrestler from the match. Given the anarchic nature of the Rumble, you’re likely to see alliances form out of nowhere to eliminate a major threat, only for those alliances to dissolve once said threat is gone. And when some people get eliminated, they get angry and cheat, eliminating someone else from the Rumble match, thus setting up a rivalry.

It’s incredibly simple booking that can lead to a blow-off match somewhere down the line, or even at WrestleMania. By creating a sense of anger in one wrestler over losing their shot at greatness, they can create simple stories that fans could sympathize with quite easily.

Imagine, for example, if Naomi eliminated Carmella and was on her way to being the last woman in the match. As an underdog babyface, fans would rally behind her, hoping she’d finally get a big shot. Instead, Carmella sneaks back into the match and eliminates Naomi, dashing the latter’s dreams. Naomi and Carmella then enter into a bitter feud over this match, with a big payoff down the road.
