Night of the Rematch
At Fastlane, we should see a couple of matches that will determine where we go heading to WrestleMania.
Having had Reigns defeat Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble, then Owens can demand his rematch at FastLane. After seeing his best friend Chris Jericho be placed in the Shark Cage above the ring during his loss at the Rumble, Owens could beg Stephanie McMahon to allow Jericho to be the referee in the match with Reigns. That match leads to Jericho screwing Owens, leading to a match between the pair at WrestleMania, and Reigns retaining his title.
The other big match at FastLane should see the big showdown between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar, with the winner becoming the number one contender to Reigns’ title. Having been defeated by Goldberg in their previous two encounters, Lesnar is hyped for this match. Goldberg is annoyed at being robbed of his shot at Mania against Reigns, but they have a competitive match lasting around 10 minutes.
Eventually, Goldberg manages to get the upper hand and again gets the win over the Beast Incarnate, leading to Goldberg vs Reigns at WrestleMania, with the Universal Championship on the line.
