Tag Team Turmoil Match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship
American Alpha (c) vs. Breezango vs. Heath Slater and Rhyno vs. The Usos vs. The Vaudevillains vs. The Ascension

Result: American Alpha pins the Ascension to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

Rating: 3.0 out of 5 stars

This didn’t turn out to be such a bad match, even though the SmackDown Tag Team Division is as weak as its been since the brand split. This goes for Raw as well. The Usos, Heath Slater and Rhyno, the Ascension, and American Alpha all had their moments here. The Vaudevillains and Breezango did not, as expected.

After the Usos were eliminated by American Alpha, they destroyed the champions at ringside with superkicks, tossing them into the apron and the steps. The Ascension would still be left too, even though Jimmy and Jey continued this crushing of Chad Gable and Jason Jordan. Konnor and Viktor would still be pinned, so it looks like we know where we’re heading with the future title feud.

American Alpha vs. the Usos already happened last summer, but not for the titles. The latter duo have also received a handful of opportunities at the belts since, coming up unsuccessful every time. Maybe this is where we’re headed for WrestleMania 33?
