If you’re a Bayley hugger, better get ready to hug with tears coming out of your eyes.

If you tuned into the recent episode of Monday Night Raw, you saw that the “Girl Next Door” Bayley defeated Charlotte Flair for the Raw Women’s Championship. This was a great feel good moment to watch. Fans have really bonded together in support for WWE’s hugger. The kids love her, and the adults love and respect her for her character, heart, and dedication. Yes, there is a real future for her… well time to see her downfall. If you follow WWE enough, you know what I am about to say.

For the last year, WWE has on and off had Charlotte Flair, daughter of Wrestling Legend Ric Flair, be the Queen of the WWE. She is the last ever WWE Divas Champion and already a 4 time Women’s Champion. She has also more importantly boasted a record, a record that WWE boasts as well on TV, of never losing at a pay per view event, she always wins there. Sure she has lost her title a few times to Sasha Banks and now Bayley on Raw, but for pay-per-views, she has not lost once. That is why it is easy to see the writing on the wall for Bayley.

In a few weeks is the very last PPV event before Wrestlemania, WWE Fastlane. The show is also a Raw Brand event, meaning we know what WWE will do. If they have Charlotte invoke her rematch at Fastlane, she will win back the championship and extend her winning streak. This buildup is designed so that when she does lose at a PPV, it will be at Wrestlemania. That is what they will do. That will mean, that wrestling’s sweet girl next door will hold the championship for only 21 days. Blackjack for poker fans there. Fans out there are mad that Bayley gets her big moment but we know it is temporary.

MORE FROM DAILY DDT:

When she won the title, it should have been a moment for her, and it was… literally a moment. Bayley won the title during a heated rivalry between Sasha Banks and Charlotte, making her the odd one out. She will be the outcast as they finish the rivalry between those two and put her to the back burners. Rumors from the Wrestling Observer are saying that all three, plus Nia Jax, will face each other at Mania for the Title. But it will end most likely one of two ways in that match — Charlotte, or more likely Sasha winning. That is bad for Bayley.

Now the match at ‘Mania could conclude most of the Sasha-Charlotte Feud and bring in Bayley. But it is a slap to her that the biggest prize in the WWE for women was won as a side note. Unlike the men, WWE Women only have two championships — one on each brand. And the Raw Women’s Title was the “Undisputed” Women’s Title if you will before the brand split, making it the superior title. So for Bayley to win in as a way to get the belt off Charlotte, only to gain back at Fastlane, really is an insult for someone who worked on her own from the bottom.

Bayley didn’t have a famous cousin like Sasha does in Snoop Dogg, or a Wrestling Legend Father like the Flairs. She worked on her own and has built a following on her own, whether WWE likes it or not. Now I am not saying that Bayley needed the belt her own way, have her win the match by countout and let her feud start later. But when you do not have any other title, there are no stepping stones. Male wrestlers have the US and Intercontinental Titles to start off on their rise up the ladder. Not to mention the Tag Team Championship as well. Women do not have a tag team title, only TNA is the major company to have had that in the past.

So this may seem like a slap, not only to Bayley, but to fans that can see through this easy story writing. And it’s not like Charlotte is just going to go down in pegs after this. She will still be in the picture. Don Tony of the Don Tony & Kevin Castle Show once spoke of Zack Ryder winning the United States Championship. He notified all that once Ryder won the United States Title that his push would end and he would downfall. That is exactly what happened. Hopefully, the same doesn’t happen to Bayley for the near future. She will be on top in the future again for sure, but how the next few months go determine the time until then.
