What Did John Cena Say to Bray Wyatt When He Pinned Him? (Video)

John Cena very clearly whispered something to Bray Wyatt, as he got pinned during the WWE Championship match on SmackDown.

On Tuesday’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Bray Wyatt made his first WWE Championship defense against John Cena and AJ Styles in the main event. This turned out to be a pay-per-view-caliber match, as these three were given over 20 minutes, something not usually given for the headlining bout on the TV shows.

On Sean “X-Pac” Waltman’s “X-Pac 12360” show, he discussed how Cena “insisted” on putting Wyatt over again. This had been done two nights before at Elimination Chamber too, when the Eater of Worlds pinned the 16-time World champion.

To add to this, it sounds like Cena even put over Wyatt during the three-count on Tuesday night. If you listen closely, around the 2:10 mark, Cena tells him, “You’re a proper champion now”.

So if there had been any doubt on what Waltman had said, this should pretty much confirm that Cena wanted to do this for Wyatt. It was an opportunity to put over someone who’s set to be the WWE champion at WrestleMania 33, with an opponent yet to be determined after Randy Orton “refused” his title shot. There will be a battle royal on Tuesday to decide who replaces him.

The Face That Runs the Place may have also been so willing to do this because he’s about to leave WWE again. As the Wrestling Observer reported, he’s set to take a hiatus after WrestleMania 33, potentially to film “The Pact”, a film that will debut in theaters on April 20, 2018.

In another WON report, Cena may not be having a match at the Show of Shows that will excite fans. It may be one that slides further down the card, as Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg and potentially, matches like Undertaker vs. Roman Reigns and Wyatt’s WWE Championship defense take greater importance.
