Braun Strowman’s Development on WWE Raw Has Been Show’s Best Aspect

With Monday Night RAW lacking in the fans eyes compared to its Tuesday night rival, Braun Strowman has continued to show what they have done right.

We are now months into the restarted Brand Extension era that began back in July. When the draft started it was assumed by many that RAW would be the superior show over SmackDown Live. RAW had all the advantages as they had more picks, since they are a three-hour show, and gained exclusive rights to the Cruiserweight division.

However, as we have all seen, that has not been the case as a number of issues and problems have caused RAW to be the weaker show in many fans eyes. The Cruiserweight division has lacked to build strong characters, the Women’s division is not very deep, and their has been an issue of injuries to top stars like Seth Rollins and Finn Balor.

The dynamic between RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and GM Mick Foley have also left fans heads scratching as the two don’t seem to click too well. All of these issues have caused the majority of fans to enjoy SmackDown, a lot more than they enjoy RAW.

Despite the issues and problems that RAW has been going through their has been one thing they have been getting right, the development and progression of Braun Strowman. The former member of The Wyatt Family was a late pick when the draft occurred in July. Its safe to say now that he has become one of the biggest steals of the draft.

When Strowman debuted in The Wyatt Family it seemed early that Vince McMahon had big plans going forward regarding Braun. Originally fans seemed not to be pleased as they thought early on that he would be nothing more than a big joke, not being able to wrestle or talk.

Boy were fans wrong as we have seen every week Strowman get better and better in both departments. In terms of the microphone, Strowman doesn’t say a lot, but his character doesn’t have to, he’s a destroyer.

In lines are short and simple but whenever you hear him talk you feel the anger in his voice and his disdain for everyone around him. Sometimes in wrestling, simplicity is the best thing, and for Braun its perfect.

In regards to his ring work, his match with the Big Show surely solidified his ability to carry a good match in the ring. While Show will undoubtedly be in the WWE Hall of Fame one day, when is the last time you remember someone having a good match with him?

Going into the match I don’t think anyone thought that Strowman would be able to deliver a solid match with the World’s Largest Athlete, but yet he did and got a major city in Los Angeles chanting “This is Awesome!” throughout the Staples Center.

Along with Show, Strowman has also put on some good matches with Sami Zayn and others during his time on RAW. Fans who were believing that the Mountain of a Man would be a waste are now seeing that he could be a future world champion.

Strowman’s next big challenge will be when he goes up against Roman Reigns at Fastlane. If Braun can put one a strong showing against another Vince McMahon, it would certainly propel him to a future World Championship.

Could Braun Strowman be the man to put down Goldberg, or Brock Lesnar to claim The Universal Championship? If the big man keeps showing that he could be a truly special talent, we could see him wearing The Universal Championship in the very near future.
