3. Kenny Omega
What a transition it has been for Kenny Omega. The Leader of The Bullet Club has become one of the top stars in NJPW. Omega began his career in NJPW as a junior heavyweight. During his time in the divsion he won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship two times.
After losing the championship last year to Kushida at Wrestle Kingdom 10, Omega decided to leave the division. What transpired next shocked many but began his rise to the top of NJPW. At New Years Dash, Omega turned on his Bullet Club Stable Mate AJ Styles.
This then prompted Omega to take over the faction and lead them into their next chapter in NJPW. Omega would then win the vacant IWGP Intercontinental Championship defeating the Iconic Hiroshi Tanahashi to claim the gold.
Omega would hold the championship for a few months before losing it to Michael Elgin in ladder match. Omega would then set his sights on winning the G1 Climax tournament. Omega would win his block, having one of the best matches of the year defeating Tetsuya Naito.
The following night Omega would defeat Hirooki Goto winning the G1 Climax. Omega would then enter the year 2017 challenging for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. At WrestleKingdom 11 Omega put on one of the greatest matches of all time against Kazuchika Okada.
Although coming up just short in the match Omega stapled himself as one of the biggest names in NJPW going forward. Omega has not been seen since his lost at WrestleKingdom 11, but is set to return to promotion soon.
One thing is for certain, when Kenny Omega returns he will instantly reclaim his spot of one of the top stars in the promotion.
