Has Sami Zayn lost his credibility as a WWE competitor?
The beatdown and the utter decimation Sami Zayn absorbed during that match against Kevin Owens has reassured the fan that Zayn is a complete joke. So after seeing that episode of Monday Night Raw, does he have any credibility left?
Overexposing Zayn with useless matches against his lifelong rival Owens has not only put a negative damper on their rivalry, but after this past episode of Monday Night Raw, it has completely burned that historic rivalry off the pages of the WWE history books.
Can you imagine Shawn Michaels defeating Triple H in less than 2 minutes after Goldberg delivered a beatdown to the Cerebral Assassin before the bell rang? You wouldn’t see that scenario coming to fruition 20 minutes before the main event match. The WWE doesn’t care about Zayn the same way they didn’t care about Dolph Ziggler. They are workhorses who are expendable to the WWE brass.
By the time the RAW pay-per-view Fastlane rolls along, Zayn will have no prayer of defeating Samoa Joe. That belief that Zayn can pull the upset died when he left NXT for the main roster last year.

That sequence of Joe attacking Zayn and Kevin Owens picking up the quick win is a microcosm of Sami’s stint on RAW. The WWE brass don’t need to book the Underdog from the Underground in a repetitive match against KO. There could have been two easy solutions to avoid that problem — either by Owens facing someone like Curtis Axel, or having Joe do another sneak attack on Zayn, similar to the scene earlier this month.
There are many ways to book certain segments in order to push superstars and angles. There are also multiple ways to protect them as well.
Sami Zayn needs to get a fresh start by teasing his departure for after Wrestlemania 33. This would be a storyline. But for in order to do that, Zayn must address his frustrations to the Authority figures of Monday Night Raw. He should storm into their office and tell Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon that he’s tired of being disrespected.
That will plant some seeds into the minds of the WWE Universe, that Sami isn’t fine with where he’s at in his career and he’s tackling the problem head on. The WWE fans should be able to respect his thought process and root him on to the path he’s fore-taking.

Once he’s on that road to elevate his stature in the WWE hierarchy, he’ll shatter the glass ceiling and grab the brass ring, just like he did back in December of 2014 when he captured his only title in WWE, the NXT Championship.
