WWE SmackDown Live Results: Highlights, Analysis, and Grades for February 28
By Grant Mannis
Dean Ambrose vs Curt Hawkins
Match Result: N/A
Match Rating: N/A
Although the result of this match was never in doubt, it would’ve been nice to have actually seen it happen. Instead, Dean Ambrose level Curt Hawkins with Dirty Deeds before the bell rang. This left him free to address Baron Corbin and the assault he received last week. Challenging the Lone Wolf to a fight, Ambrose is disappointed when Corbin appears on the titantron. Stating that he appears when he wants and not when the Lunatic Fringe beckons, Corbin reminds everyone how Ambrose cost him the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber. He plans on destroying Ambrose as revenge, and the two trade a few insults to close out the segment.
Chairs Match
Apollo Crews vs Dolph Ziggler
Result: Dolph Ziggler wins via pinfall
Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars
After weeks and weeks of these two going at it, Crews and Ziggler competed in a chairs match here tonight on SmackDown Live. Perfectly booked given the presence this weapon has had in their feud, steel chairs were present throughout the contest. An athletic and competitive contest, the result honestly could’ve gone either way in the closing moments. In the end, it just wasn’t meant to be Crews’ night, as a chair shot to the throat ended his offense. A crotch shot with a chair ensued, and Ziggler managed to impress in an exciting match.
