4. Austin Aries vs. Neville

It comes as no coincidence that WWE has been using the weeks leading up to Fastlane to hype the in-ring debut of Austin Aries in the WWE cruiserweight division.

The man was sidelined from his position in NXT all the way back in October, and since then has put his time to good use as a color commentary for both the WWE cruiserweight division on Monday Night Raw and 205 Live, but on Main Event as well.

However, “The Greatest Man That Ever Lived” has been a rather attitudinal journalist to say the very least, taking every opportunity he can to belittle those he could very well find himself up against when he gets back into action – often expressing a fondness for putting his thumb in the eye of his opponent to gain the upper hand.

It was said back in the early days of his injury that Aries would be expected back in competition around this time of year, and with the recent vignettes hyping him as a competitor, it looks like Aries is in good health and will be joining the division soon.

It certainly helps his case that Aries’ name has been thrown around as Neville’s potential WrestleMania opponent, and if that’s the case, he’s going to want to make a big impact upon his insertion into the active ranks of the WWE cruiserweight division.

Since he’ll be on commentary when Neville brings his rivalry with Jack Gallagher to a close on Sunday night – most likely in a winning effort for the defending champion – what better time will there be for Austin to ambush the champion in a post-match interview to officially stake his claim to the WWE Cruiserweight Championship?

It’ll put Aries right in the heart of the storm on the final stretch to WrestleMania and give Neville arguably his toughest challenge since returning last December.
