Report: Matt and Jeff Hardy in Talks for WWE Return
Matt and Jeff Hardy may be heading back to the WWE very soon.
Matt and Jeff Hardy made waves earlier this week when they were let go by TNA. It ended their time there abruptly, having not even dropped the TNA World Tag Team Championship on TV. The new regime chose to not let them do so, and immediately let the brothers walk.
Upon departure, Matt Hardy blew up his Twitter account with tweets to Bray Wyatt and gave subtle teases on what he could do. It even looked like a way of saying he may want to return to WWE.
Well, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet, the Hardy Brothers are in talks with the WWE for a comeback. This started after their time with Impact Wrestling officially ended, and as Ryan Satin says in the report, “things are looking good.” It’s also not known what the creative plans would be for them.
if Matt and Jeff sign, it would be an interesting dose of the old, but with new characters that plenty of WWE fans may not have seen before. The “Broken” persona of Matt’s took over the pro wrestling industry in 2016 and made him a highlight of Impact Wrestling. He feuded with Jeff, who eventually took on his own “Broken” character. This resulted in a tag title run and an episode dedicated to them at the Hardy compound. Last summer’s “Final Deletion” match between the two can’t be forgotten either.
Bringing “Broken” to the WWE Universe would be something unique for the product, if Vince McMahon, Triple H and Co. allow it. It’s arguably made Matt the most popular he’s ever been in the wrestling business, so why not go with what works? Unless Anthem has an issue with it.
