Randy Orton finally turned on Bray Wyatt last night. Did he unleash a new side of The Eater of Worlds?
The Bray Wyatt-Randy Orton team is no more. Orton burnt down The Wyatt Family Compound, while all Wyatt could do was watch in agony. It was the darkest moment of Wyatt’s career, but it might also be a turning point that unleashes a dark side of his that we’ve never seen.
What Orton did was vicious, it sent Wyatt into a tailspin. He couldn’t believe his eyes, as Orton stood, posing like Orton does, with Wyatt’s whole life burning to the ground in front of him. It was a truly incredible sight.
There’s no doubt at this point, for Wyatt to gain any credibility out of this feud, he must defeat Orton at WrestleMania. Still, how he responds from this attack will have a big affect on him as well.
The next time we see Wyatt should be with Orton standing in the middle of the ring. A role reversal of what we saw last night. With Orton gloating about how he picked off members of The Wyatt Family, got Wyatt alone, and made him let his guard down, so that he could destroy everything he loves. That includes Sister Abigail, who, as Orton noted, was entombed under the floor board.

What if Orton didn’t burn the remains of Sister Abigail, though? What if, instead, he set her spirit free?
With Orton gloating in the ring, Wyatt appears on the Titan Tron from backstage. He seems to be a shell of himself, still trying to pick up the pieces from Orton’s attack. He tells Orton that there are secrets about The Wyatt Family that he had yet to uncover before he revealed his true intentions. The biggest of which revolves around Abigail.
Wyatt could then go into a story about how Abigail haunted him for the first few years that he was in WWE. Though she was gone, she would still appear and punish him for his failures. That she caused the original split of The Wyatt Family, until they banded back together and laid her soul to rest.
He could then explain that his reaction to Orton’s actions weren’t a cry of sadness over his lost home, but a cry of terror that Abigail would be back on the loose.
Then, the twist in the story.

Wyatt then details something that happened the night after the fire: Abigail’s reemergence. She came to him the night after, and he feared what might come next, but she soothed his fears and said she wasn’t there for him. She was proud of Wyatt, who had become the WWE Champion. She said that the attack on the Compound may have set her free, but it still inspired much anger in her, but that her anger was directed at Orton.
WWE is good at live, in-arena special effects, and I’m sure they could pull off something really visually impressive. Ideally, the lights and the Titan Tron would all go dark, except for a spotlight on Orton. Wyatt’s voice could still be heard, as he tells Orton that spirits can’t be burnt, harmed, or controlled. That him and his former family members had to go through hell to imprison Abigail in the Compound, and now that she’s free, she might stay that way forever.
Finally, the reveal. Behind Orton, Abigail would appear, levitating a foot off the ground. Then again, all the lights go out, and when they come back on, neither Abigail or Orton remain. That would be a SmackDown ending that wouldn’t soon be forgotten.

That’s just one segment, and it’s going to take a little more than that to sell this feud. However, what happened when Orton turned on Wyatt was shocking, even if the turn itself was predictable. The segment itself sent shockwaves, and one like this could really pile on top of that and make this the type of mega-feud at WrestleMania that WWE hasn’t had in a very long time.
