2. His Pay-Per-View Record Speaks Volumes

Last Sunday, Michael Cole let fans in on an interesting statistic regarding Goldberg. The current Universal Champion has yet to lose in a one on one encounter on WWE pay-per-view. That is an incredible feat, especially when you consider that he has faced huge names such as The Rock, Triple H, and Chris Jericho at these big events. Most importantly, that list of victories includes defeating Brock Lesnar on two separate occasions. Everyone knows about the more recent encounter between Goldberg and Lesnar at Survivor Series, but these two also battled all the way back in 2004.

At the twentieth installment of WrestleMania, two of the greatest powerhouses in WWE history battled inside the squared circle. As an added twist Stone Cold Steve Austin was appointed as the guest referee, drawing, even more, eyes to the encounter. By the time the event rolled around tensions were at an all-time high, however, the men involved weren’t fully into the contest. The end result was a match that fell below expectations, but it was a marked the first time that Goldberg stood triumphant over the Beast.

On April 2, 2017, Goldberg and Lesnar will have one final chance to produce an absolute classic. Both of their careers have led to this one defining moment, and for Goldberg especially this isn’t something they can fall short on. They’ll have more eyes on them than ever before, as WrestleMania is one of the most popular entertainment spectacles on the planet. Next, to Chris Jericho versus Kevin Owens, this feud has been the most developed storyline on RAW. It would be a shame to see their last match go the same way as their first, however, it appears brighter things are on the horizon.
