There’s a photo going around of Kurt Angle potentially being at Tuesday’s WWE SmackDown Live taping, but does it mean he’ll show up?

Kurt Angle is back in WWE and has his first confirmed TV appearance to be at the Hall of Fame on Friday, March 31. He’s set to headline the show.

Much has been made about Angle being back in WWE for the first time in 11 years. From speculation about if he’ll wrestle again, to being a general manager for either Raw or SmackDown, it’s been a guessing game for his potential TV role.

Well, could that come to fruition as soon as Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live? There’s a photo going around on Twitter of the Olympic Gold Medalist being at the show. He’s from Pittsburgh, PA, which is where the event is taking place.

This doesn’t guarantee anything, however. Angle could just be visiting backstage to see WWE officials and the SmackDown talents, especially with the show being in his hometown. While the pop for his return would be defeaning, there’s nothing to suggest he is appearing. It may even be to film material for a WWE 24 special, which was confirmed during Monday’s Bring it to the Table show on the WWE Network.

Angle being back on WWE TV seems inevitable, potentially after WrestleMania 33. We noted a while back that his return date is set for sometime around then. Could that mean taking over for a soon-to-be-fired Mick Foley?

In the meantime, the focus should be on Angle as part of the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame class. He’s going to be the focal point of the ceremony, and for good reason. This is one of WWE’s top stars of the Attitude Era and into the Ruthless Aggression Era, who left in 2006 and joined TNA, having no association with the mainstream WWE audience since.
