5 Reasons Brock Lesnar Will Win at WWE WrestleMania 33

2. Past Rivalries Share Similar Paths
Looking back, there have been a number of WWE rivalries that have had three matches. Some had both combatants earn a victory, setting up a tiebreaker at a major event. Others decided to pull a swerve on fans, causing doubt as to whether or not the losing superstar could come back. A recent example of this was the rivalry between AJ Styles and John Cena.
At Money in the Bank, Styles earned his first victory over his rival to lead the series 1-0. The second match between the two occurred at Summerslam, with Styles again reigning supreme. A run with the WWE Championship separated the two for awhile, but by the Royal Rumble, they were back at it. This time, Cena managed to overcome the odds, beating Styles to win his sixteenth world championship.
A more famous rivalry to take advantage of this system was The Rock versus Stone Cold Steve Austin. Two of the most popular stars in WWE history, Austin and Rock competed for years against one another. Their battles will go down in history as incredible, especially their series at WrestleMania.
Heading into WrestleMania 19, Rock was incensed that he had failed to beat Austin in two previous appearances at the Show of Shows. Touted as the final encounter between the two at the event, they went into Safeco Field intent on settling the score. Gaining the victory after a third Rock Bottom, Rock finally broke his WrestleMania curse. As for Austin, this would go down as his final match in WWE.
Case in point, never say never in the world of professional wrestling. Many of us are already familiar with the saying that “the third time is the charm”. Come WrestleMania, that belief will be cemented when Brock Lesnar defeats Goldberg.
