American Alpha vs. The Usos

Result: American Alpha wins via pinfall

Rating: 3.75 out of 5 stars

When we return from commercial break, a recap video is shown of the assault Baron Corbin inflicted on Dean Ambrose last week. This brings us to the Lone Wolf being interviewed, where he says the reason he attacked Ambrose because he asked for it. Should the Lunatic Fringe continue, Corbin promises to end his rival for good.

In our final match of the evening, American Alpha main event against the Usos. Originally I thought this match was being saved for WrestleMania, so I guess I was put in my place tonight.

Given a huge opportunity to represent the SmackDown Live tag division, both teams knew they had to impress tonight. Sadly, WWE chose to use this time to interrupt the action and show Shane McMahon preparing (and then refusing) to go to the hospital. The commentators devoted part of the match to talk about the topic as well, drawing away from what was a strong match.

Fitting into their heel roles, The Usos excelled at slowing the pace early on. Eventually, the time came for Chad Gable to get the hot tag, and when he did so he went offensive spree. He would tag Jason Jordan back in and they appeared to have the match won, but then the Usos managed to separate the duo and nail a superkick for the win.

Immediately after the match, a damaged Shane McMahon appeared on the entrance ramp. He announced that he will face AJ Styles at WrestleMania to close out the show.
