WWE WrestleMania 33: Shane McMahon vs. AJ Styles Made Official

After speculation and rumors, AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon is on for WrestleMania 33.

AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon had been teased for weeks, seemingly for WrestleMania 33. It started with Styles complaining about management and not receiving his WWE Championship match at the show. However, it turned violent on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown.

Around the 9:00 p.m. ET hour of the show, Styles was seen waiting in the venue’s garage for McMahon. He had been interviewed a few times beforehand to see what he was trying to accomplish. It became apparent, as once Shane’s car pulled up and he got out, the Phenomenal One attacked and sent him through a car window.

Toward the end of the show, the Prodigal Son was seen making his way into the arena, refusing to receive further medical assistance. He walked into the guerrilla position, grabbed a microphone, walked on stage and said that Styles now has a WrestleMania 33 opponent, signaling that it would be him.

This match potentially rounds out the SmackDown part of the WrestleMania 33 card, with one or two still yet to be added. Here’s how it looks from the Tuesday night perspective:

• AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon
• John Cena and Nikki Bella vs. The Miz and Maryse
• Alexa Bliss vs. Everyone – SmackDown Women’s Championship
• Andre the Giant Battle Royal (Includes Raw and SmackDown Superstars)

Styles vs. McMahon is possibly the second-biggest match from the SmackDown side. It features a red-hot Superstar (Styles) vs. someone whose WWE legacy stretches back to the late 1990’s and is the SmackDown Commissioner (McMahon).
