4. Jericho Becomes a Grand Slam Champion (A-gain)

For all his accomplishments in WWE, Chris Jericho had never held the United States Champion. He’s held the Intercontinental Championship more times than anyone in history. Jericho was also the first man to be the Undisputed Champion in WWE history back in 2001. Officially, Jericho was a Grand Slam Champion, thanks to being a former tag team champion, as well as European Champion. He was the fourth such champion in WWE history, following Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and Kane.

(Interestingly, Chris Jericho is the only man to have been a Grand Slam Champion under the original criteria who held every eligible title – WWE Championship, Intercontinental, European, Hardcore, World Tag, and WWE Tag.)

But somewhere along the way, WWE changed the criteria for the Grand Slam Championship. To qualify now, one must have held either world title (WWE or Universal), either tag title (WWE/Raw or SmackDown), the Intercontinental Title, and the United States Title. This left Y2J a little short.

In January 2017, Jericho and Kevin Owens teamed up to take on Roman Reigns in a handicap match. Reigns was the United States Champion at the time, and for some strange reason, the title was on the line. Owens hit Reigns with an apron powerbomb, and as The Big Dog staggered back into the ring he was met with a Codebreaker from Y2J. One three count later, and Jericho had entered the history books yet again.
