6. WrestleMania XX
Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg (Special referee: Steve Austin)

By far the most disappointing match on this list, the first installment in the Brock Lesnar versus Goldberg rivalry should’ve been intense. Fans expected a hard-hitting and stiff encounter, with two of WWE’s toughest men out to prove who was the best. The addition of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin only added to the spectacle, and yet what could’ve been a masterpiece ended up being doomed from the start.

As it turns out, both Goldberg and Lesnar were set to leave the company following their match. Word of this got out and the fans in attendance weren’t happy in the slightest. Singing the superstar’s goodbye from the moment the bell rang, their attempts at laughter quickly turned to boos. Both men inside the ring refused to put any sort of effort into the exchange, with the first five minutes alone being dedicated to stare-offs and holds. The action would escalate as the match went on, however, the action was nowhere close to the potential it was capable of.

In what has been considered one of the biggest letdown matches in WrestleMania history, Goldberg went over Lesnar with the Jackhammer. Up until the past year that win was never discussed, and fans chose to remember the match more for Austin stunning both men rather than the action itself. Regardless of the fans reaction, this would go down as the first loss for Lesnar at WrestleMania.
