Brock Lesnar vs Dean Ambrose

The most recent WrestleMania appearance for Brock Lesnar occurred last year, when he competed against Dean Ambrose. Stemming from the resilient nature the Lunatic Fringe displayed, he continued to goad Lesnar no matter how much punishment he suffered. There were a number of times throughout 2016 where the Beast destroyed Ambrose, but every time he struggled to his feet and begged for more.

Eventually, a match was made official between the two, with the setting being AT&T Stadium, which was hosting WrestleMania 32. In the weeks leading up to the event, legends such as Mick Foley and Terry Funk passed down their infamous weapons to Ambrose. Declaring that he was in for the fight of his life, the legends suggested that he not hold back during the encounter. Knowing that it was going to take all of his wit and determination to defeat the Beast, Ambrose accepted this full-heartedly.

When these two finally met at WrestleMania, the match itself wasn’t that bad. It left a lot to be desired, but it was obvious both men put effort into producing an entertaining match. While Brock Lesnar winning was never in doubt, it would’ve been more beneficial for Ambrose to have put his body at risk a bit more. While an F5 on a pile of chairs is a perfectly acceptable way to lose, it seemed as though (based on his promos beforehand) he should’ve withstood and delivered more punishment. I’m sure this is the result of a PG environment rather than Ambrose’s frame of mind, but had the potential to be so much more than what it was.
