Brock Lesnar vs Triple H

When Brock Lesnar first returned to WWE back in 2012, fans were appalled when he lost his first match back to John Cena. The athlete had an invincible aura about him, and many felt that had been taken away by the loss, even though he had been dominant throughout the contest. Still, Lesnar managed to bounce back somewhat during the early portion of his feud with Triple H. Defeating him at that year’s SummerSlam plus breaking The Game’s arm not once but twice, he gave the presence of a force to be reckoned with.

Of course, by the time 2013 rolled around, Triple H was ready to even the score with the Beast. Alongside his best friend Shawn Michaels, The Game entered WrestleMania XXIX with plenty of pressure on his shoulders. As part of the contract both men signed ahead of time, a loss for Triple H meant that he would have to retire. Contested under a no holds barred environment, each of the men involved knew that things were going to get physical.

A vast improvement over their first interaction at SummerSlam, this match still suffered from having way too much time allotted for it. Still a few years before his prime in WWE, Lesnar would battle a back and forth match with Triple H. Slow and maniacal, the match dragged one at certain points, especially during the closing moments. At the end of the day, this match won’t go down as a classic. With that being said, it wasn’t a bad match by any means, still a vast improvement over Lesnar’s previous appearance at the event.
