Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker

In what will go down as the most shocking moment of our generation, Brock Lesnar entered WrestleMania XXX and walked out victorious. No one could’ve predicted that Lesnar was going to beat The Undertaker and end the greatest streak in WWE history. Twenty-one times, The Undertaker had walked down that ramp, and despite everything that was thrown at him the Deadman kept on winning. The streak seemed as though it was destined to go on forever, at least until Brock Lesnar showed up.

Looking back, the promotional video which aired right before the match served as a spoiler of sorts for the encounter. While no one knew in advance who was to emerge victoriously, the video itself hinted that Lesnar was going over. The video centered around Paul Heyman hyping up his client, during which he stated the infamous line “and then the smallest number, becomes the biggest” as it pertained to the streak. At the time it didn’t hold much weight, however, now the video speaks volumes.

As for the match itself, the shocking conclusion far superseded the action inside the ring. Early on in the contest, Undertaker suffered a devastating concussion. Widely regarded as one of the toughest men in the business, the veteran managed to go through the motions and finish the match. He put up one hell of a fight, and even seemed to have the match won with the tombstone piledriver. Shockingly, Lesnar would kick-out of the finisher, and would go on to hit a 3rd F5 for the victory. The win propelled Lesnar to the top of the mountain and revived his indestructible aura. By the end of that year, he became the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
