2. WrestleMania 31 – WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match
Brock Lesnar (c) vs Roman Reigns

At the 2015 Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns entered the Wells Fargo arena in Philadelphia and won the Royal Rumble match. Being present at that event, I couldn’t help but join the chorus of boos which serenaded the Samoan wrestler. His victory was as predictable as the sun rising, and many felt he was the one chosen to conquer Brock Lesnar. As the World Champion, Lesnar brought a level of prestige to the championship that hadn’t been seen in some time. Even with limited appearances, he made the title more meaningful that it had been in years.

Before the big match, Lesnar announced that he had signed a brand new contract with WWE. This made the match result up in the air, because now the Beast Incarnate had a chance to continue carrying the championship post-WrestleMania. So when the big night came and the main event began, fans everywhere sat back hoping for a spectacle. They received that plus the greatest beating Reigns ever suffered, as he was repeatedly taken down by Lesnar’s vast array of suplexes.

Resilient beyond belief, the Big Dog proved himself the fans as he kept struggling to his feet for more. The quest for gold consumed him to his course, and despite the vicious onslaught, he could taste the championship. Fighting his way back into the contest, the match eventually reached a stalemate when both men were battered and beaten on the mat. It was at this moment that Seth Rollins appeared to cash in his briefcase, shocking fans in attendance. Two Curb Stomps later, and the Architect had won his first WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
