1. WrestleMania 19 – WWE Championship Match
Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle (c)

Entering his first WrestleMania, Brock Lesnar was set to face the man who could arguably go down as his greatest rival. Kurt Angle, who was in the midst of his third reign as WWE Champion, was at the absolute top of his game. Producing some of the greatest matches of his entire career at the time, it was of no surprise that he was paired with Lesnar. Both men have incredible amateur wrestling credentials, and that was more than apparent at the time.

Earning the right to face Angle after winning the 2003 Royal Rumble, Lesnar was determined to win his second WWE Championship. He even pinned the champion in a six-man tag team match at No Way Out, adding to the belief that a new champion would be crowned at WrestleMania. The Olympic Gold Medalist refused to go down without a fight, so both men went on to fight tooth and nail for the title.

While this will go down as the Lesnar’s best match at WrestleMania, it also marks the sight of his most dangerous in-ring accident. Instead of pinning Angle following a second F5, Lesnar climbed to the top rope and attempted a shooting star press. Fatigued and having difficulty grasping the ropes firmly due to intense sweating, the Beast misaimed the maneuver. Crashing into Angle’s ribcage, Lesnar would suffer a severe concussion. This makes the end result even more impressive, as Lesnar recuperated enough to hit Angle with a third F5 for the victory. Despite the loss, Angle would congratulate the new champion. Both men embraced in the ring, ending what had been an incredible WrestleMania.
