5. Sami Zayn

Zayn has all but been in purgatory on Raw as of late.  He consistently finds himself in no-win situations but is a supporting player in main event tag matches.  It is criminal that he isn’t in a long-term feud or there is a clear direction for him.

His feud with Kevin Owens was his biggest highlight since coming onto the main roster, but the company can’t rely on their history and chemistry in matches forever.  Zayn’s direction needs to be evident post-WrestleMania and unless he evolves on Raw, Smackdown can definitely benefit from the addition.

This is a wild-card potential win, but I think it could put a permanent stamp on Zayn for the main roster.  Fans know that Zayn is very capable of holding his own in the ring.  His crusade of fighting for what’s right is why fans rally for him, simply because he is the perfect underdog.  The odds are against him constantly, and he is not afraid of standing up for the greater good.

A win in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal gives Zayn an edge heading into the summer.   It is a case of it counts for something when it comes to Zayn’s direction.  Who he would feud with remains up in the air.  Who would be a good candidate to feud with Zayn next?  That is probably the bigger question more than anything.
