Shane McMahon vs. A.J. Styles

This match shouldn’t even be happening. After all, A.J. Styles has been carrying SmackDown on his shoulders for months and now his reward is to be in a match against Vince’s son Shane; a match that he’s likely to be losing.

While it does make sense for Styles, the heel, to lose to the babyface Shane, all this match does is prove CM Punk right. Punk left due to a growing overemphasis on part-timers and non-wrestlers, and this match exemplifies that perfectly.

Styles is a 15-year-plus veteran that has wrestled all over the world and is considered arguably the #1 wrestler on the entire planet. Shane is a 46-year-old dad who throws terrible punches and wrestles gimmick matches.

But sadly Vince sees his son as a big star (surprise, surprise, nepotism in WWE) and isn’t likely to see him lose against someone that made his name elsewhere. So even if Styles has been SmackDown’s saving grace for the better part of a year, it looks like he’s going to be fodder to another member of the McMahon family.

Winner: Shane McMahon
