The Phenomenal One & Shane O’Mac Make It Official

This week’s episode of SmackDown Live starts with the contract signing between AJ Styles and Shane McMahon. Daniel Bryan comes out first to mediate proceedings, followed by the two WrestleMania opponents. Shane takes the microphone first, discussing the vision he and Bryan had for SmackDown Live months ago. Regardless of what happens Sunday, he makes it clear that Styles is still part of that vision.

Continuing the discussion, Shane points out that it was the arrogance of the Phenomenal One that cost him the WWE Championship. Styles may be underestimating the Commissioner now, but Shane states he makes all his opponents earn the victory. Both men then sign the contract, and now it’s time for Styles to say his piece. Arrogant as can be, it was obvious Styles isn’t taking his opponent as seriously as he should.

Questioning Shane’s ability to wrestle a normal match, the Phenomenal One hints that he is going to embarrass him boss at WrestleMania. According to the former WWE Champion, Shane has never been in the ring with an athlete like him. The two then nearly come to blows, but Bryan gets between them and diffuses the situation. Shane extended his hand to his opponent, however, Styles chose to value having the last word over respect. The segment ends with Styles talking trash as he walks up the ramp with Shane looking on.

Whether you’re a fan of this match or not, these two have the potential to put on a classic. It all comes down to the conditioning Shane possesses come Sunday.
